We stayed just as Christmas at the Castle started and visited the light trail the same night. It's a new hotel but to be honest the usage of the word "hotel" and "resort" are a bit misleading. There is no room service, no boutiques or gym or pool that a resort might normally boast. It's clean as it's new and it's perfectly functional as a room either for a single person travelling or a small family. It's a novelty - modern tapestries decorate the walls, fun wall paper and luxury shower gel and cream. There is a small shop in the hotel lobby which houses zog themed items and some souvenirs but not much in the way of supplies if you have a young child or baby. So if you forgot nappies, wipes or baby milk, it's a trip into the town for you! The restaurant, if you choose to eat there, is across a small bridge so you do have to go outdoors. After the limited entertainment at the restaurant there is nothing else to do especially in the autumn/winter or if the weather is poor in the summer. There is a t.v in the bedroom. I have suggested management look at these issues and a few more things to make the stay better. The staff on reception are nice but if you choose the self check in, there is a £5 deposit for the swipe cards which is refunded on their return. Pricey for what you get - choose the date of your stay wisely to get the best price. Great experience for young children but for adults it is just bed and breakfast - no frills.

I recently stayed at the Warwick Castle Hotel from 20.12.to 22.12. hoping for a memorable and festive experience with my family. Unfortunately, our stay did not meet the expectations set by the high price point (over £1,000+ for two nights) or the descriptions provided at the time of booking. 1. Hotel Room & Facilities: • The room was significantly smaller than expected for 5 people, with no phone or fridge, which we found inconvenient. • The room was very cold upon arrival, and on the day of departure, there was no hot water. 2. Activities: • We booked two days with the “Wake Up Elves” activity, but the elves only appeared on one morning. • The limited activities for children were repetitive (the same pantomime shown multiple times). • Santa’s story session was available only in the morning. 3. Dining: • The restaurant only opened at 5 PM, with a limited food selection for both dinner and breakfast. • Long queues and overcrowding during breakfast added to our frustration. 4. Castle Access: • Access to the castle required an additional fee, and only few activities available, closed by 4PM. • The light trail was brief, maybe around 30 minutes We chose the hotel after being assured it offered superior activities and facilities compared to the lodges, but the reality was far from satisfactory. Given these issues, I believe the experience did not justify the cost and left my family feeling disappointed during what was meant to be a special pre-Christmas trip.

Loved the location of this sympathetic development in the castle grounds. Ample guest parking. Rooms excellent. Good spirited staff. Good menu choices and catering for vegans. Won't hesitate to return and look forward to it!
